01 · Ingest

From any meter, any source, any country.

Every portfolio has a mix of meter types, building-management systems, manual processes, supplier portals, and invoiced data. The buildings span decades of vintages, the IT footprint is minimal, and there's rarely an engineer on site. Most platforms force one path - Wia takes all of them.

We flip the economics of data collection. Retrofit hardware sits on live meters, cellular and LoRaWAN backhaul means no IT presence is needed, and local teams install in hours, not weeks. That changes the question from 'is the data worth collecting?' to 'what should we do with it?'

How rollout works

Three steps. No engineer on the ground.

01

Remote survey

We map your sites and meters from your existing documentation - single-line diagrams, BMS exports, photos. No site visits, no consultants. The output is a hardware bill of materials per site, ready to ship.

02

Local install

Hardware ships to site, pre-configured for that meter. A local electrician fits the retrofit clamp on the live meter - usually under an hour. Buildings stay on, tenants are unaffected.

03

Data flowing

The device comes online on cellular within seconds of power-up. First readings hit your dashboard within minutes. Within 24 hours we have a baseline for that meter.

Inside Ingest

Everything Ingest does, in one place.

Retrofit IoT

Sit our hardware on existing meters - no rip-and-replace, no truck rolls. Reads pulse, modbus and optical interfaces on equipment from the 80s onwards. Devices ship preconfigured to the site.

Cellular & LoRaWAN

No IT footprint required at site. Devices come online out of the box on cellular, falling back to LTE-M or NB-IoT where coverage is thin. LoRaWAN for dense sub-metering inside warehouses and offices where cellular signal struggles. Encrypted end-to-end with hardware-rooted identity.

BMS integration

KNX, BACnet, Modbus, Lonworks - connect to what the building already has. Where the BMS is there, we use it; where it isn’t, we add retrofit IoT alongside. Existing automation logic stays intact.

Manual upload

Drag-and-drop CSV / Excel ingestion with validation, preview and conflict resolution built in. For sites that aren’t metered yet, this gets data flowing on day one. Bulk uploads handled in chunks of any size.

Invoice ingestion

Vendor invoices parsed for tariff, consumption and period split. Handles every supplier format we’ve seen - and adds new ones automatically when the parser is uncertain. Reconciles against metered data so discrepancies surface as alerts.

Cloud + Open API

Pull from sites already instrumented elsewhere via direct cloud integrations, or push data into Wia over REST and webhooks. Your existing stack stays in place. Authentication via API keys or OAuth.

Install in minutes. Zero downtime.

Retrofit hardware deploys on live meters - buildings stay on, tenants don't notice. Local teams handle install without a Wia engineer on the ground, anywhere in the world.

Coverage

30+ countries. One operating model.

Wia is deployed across logistics warehouses, real-estate portfolios and OEM platforms in 30+ countries. The retrofit-first model means each country uses the same hardware, the same data shape and the same operational playbook - your team manages every site the same way, regardless of where it is.

No country-specific integration work. No regional dashboards. One operating model worldwide.

Works with

The kit you already have.

Wia plugs into the building-management systems and meter vendors your sites use today. If it speaks a standard protocol, we connect to it.

FAQ

Common questions

Does retrofitting interfere with existing meter contracts or warranties?

No. The retrofit hardware sits beside the meter - it reads but never modifies. Existing supplier contracts and meter warranties are unaffected.

What happens if cellular coverage drops at a site?

Devices cache locally for up to 30 days and back-fill when connectivity returns. For sites with persistent coverage issues, we ship LTE-M or NB-IoT variants.

How long until first data?

First readings arrive within minutes of install. A statistically robust baseline takes 24-72 hours per meter, depending on operational cycle.

Can we run Wia alongside an existing EMS or ESG platform?

Yes. Wia is the data layer. Your existing ESG software, reporting consultancy or analytics stack consumes the data via API, webhook or scheduled export.
